About Us
StudentLoanCrisis.org is a national education and advocacy network committed to bringing clarity, accountability, and humanity to the student loan system. We collaborate with more than 400 experienced writers, researchers, and financial educators who specialize in producing accurate, accessible, and deeply informative content about student loans.
Our mission is simple: to educate students and parents about the real risks and real benefits of borrowing for college — before, during, and long after graduation. Student loans are not just financial products; they are long‑term commitments that shape careers, families, and futures. We believe every borrower deserves honest information, transparent guidance, and institutions that stand by them.
We recognize that some colleges provide excellent financial education and genuinely support their students, while others focus primarily on securing tuition payments “by any means necessary.” Students make a lifelong commitment when they choose a college. Shouldn’t colleges make a lifelong commitment to their students in return?
At StudentLoanCrisis.org, we highlight the sacrifices students make to earn their degrees — the long nights, the financial strain, the years of repayment — and we shine a light on institutions whose policies or actions undermine the very people they claim to serve. Our goal is to identify and uplift schools that honor their responsibility to students, and to call out those that do not.
We believe in a future where students are protected, colleges are accountable, and borrowers are empowered with the knowledge they need to make informed decisions. Until that future becomes reality, we will continue to investigate, educate, and advocate for every student navigating the complex world of higher‑education debt.
